Hiding apps on iPad 1

I have downloaded some "special" apps but I want to put them in a folder that can be password protected. Can this be done on the iPad 1? Or.......does anyone know of an app I can get from the Store that will let me put apps, photos, videos, etc into the app to be kept away from prying eyes?

You can hide away photos and videos no problem, but not apps - at least without jail breaking

There are apps such as Lock Folder HD and others which will secure photos, videos, etc from prying eyes but I'm not aware of anyway to hide apps although, if the apps are not to large you could delete them then re-download from the App Store (for free) when you need them, not an elegant solution, but a solution nevertheless.
