iPad 1 as digital frame setup

I have an iPad 1 & 2. I want to use the iPad I as a digital frame now, showing all iPhoto pix in my Mac
for viewing. I created an alternate itune library but can't figure out how to move just iPhoto pix over.

Plus now when I attach my iPad 1 to iTunes alt library to upload new software (5 with iCloud?) iTunes doesn't not even show ipad1 when connected now? What the hey?
