This is normal, you can only get gestures back with a jailbreak.

So you mean, in my iPad 1 I cannot use the muti gestures?iPad 1 doesn't support multi gesture isthat it?

No, those aren't the gestures being talked about. They are a new accessibility feature provided by Apple in iOS 5.
