Have an iPad and of late have noted the following
The touch quality has deteriorated
Sound at tapping keyboard has gone
No ringer on FaceTime

All this despite going on to settings and keeping the necessary switches on

Have you installed touch guard? Well, with time quality of touch can go down and the same has been mentioned in iPad manual. As regards sound of key typing, you can check it on 'setting-sounds'. In sounds option you can set sound for key typing as well as ringtone for FaceTime.
