After a long intervall of R&D finally my IPAD on mtnl 3g network works and i got speed of around 512 Kbps in delhi for download and 256 Kbps for upload. it works on mtnl 3g jadoo card.

You can get the micro SIM card from airtel. Ask for H2 card.

Does anyone know what settings I should enter for Reliance 3G ? I bought the SIM yesterday, but the same message (that other users have mentioned) is popping up, and I cannot access the internet through it.

Moreover, where would one even enter the "*99#" thing as previously mentioned ?

"rcomnet" in APN setting and leave the username and password as blank.

No other setting required.

What are the other service providers charging and what limit to downloads do they give?

It seems that you are using Airtel's postpaid plan, hence paying Rs. 400/month for 2 GB. I am using a prepaid H2 card and getting it charged for Rs. 98/month for 2 GB download/upload.
