Ever since it was launched for consumers, the iPad Mini 2 has been plagued with supply constraints caused by the bottlenecks encountered by components makers for the iPad mini with Retina display. Finally, a new report from DigiTimes claims that the production issues have been solved, saying that Apple has ordered nearly 4 million iPad mini units with Retina for shipments in November, according to Taiwan makers.
Max Wang and Joseph Tsai with DigiTimes say the following:
According to DigiTimes’ sources,. Apple's orders for the iPad mini with Retina have already surpassed those for the first-generation iPad mini, which just confirms the huge popularity that the device is enjoying. In-store availability of the Retina iPad Mini models has recently improved quite a bit for Apple’s US retail stores so this shows the supply problem is apparently being taken care off.
As bottlenecks in making components for the iPad mini with Retina have gradually been removed, Apple has increase orders in November to nearly four million units, according to Taiwan-based supply chain makers. Currently, Apple's orders for the iPad mini with Retina have already surpassed those for the first-generation iPad mini, the sources noted.
As for the iPad Air, because the supply chain had a longer preparation time, the device is seeing much more stable supply compared to previous-generation devices when launched, the sources said. Shortages of Retina displays were the main reason causing the iPad mini to suffer from tight supply since manufacturing a 7-inch Retina display is more difficult than a 9.7-inch one, the sources explained. Because of the issue, the iPad mini with Retina did not become available in retail channels until mid-November.
Following a promise made nearly one year ago, Honda has now announced that it is bringing Apple’s Siri Eyes Free integration feature to three of its car models - the 2013-2014 Honda Accord, and the 2013 Acura RDX and ILX. Honda has plans to bring the feature to more vehicles as soon as next month and will continue in the beginning of the next year.
The Siri Eyes Free feature is available as a dealer installed accessory and allows you to perform a number of functions safely whilst driving without having to touch your iPhone. You can tell Siri to send and text messages or emails, create calendar events and reminders, activate turn-by-turn navigation and more. Also, Siri Eyes Free keeps the display of your iPhone or iPod off during tasks so it wouldn’t distract the driver.
Art St. Cyr, vice president of product planning and logistics, American Honda, said the following:
General Motors has also announced recently that it is bringing support for Siri Eyes Free to select 2014 car models, but the company hasn’t yet made public the information.
Honda recognizes the power of Siri Eyes Free to meet connectivity and convenience needs of its customers in a responsible manner. With technology becoming further integrated into people’s lives, we are happy to provide next-generation connectivity and meet our customer’s ever-changing needs.
The Portland Trail Blazers basketball team has registered a 102-91 victory over the New York Knicks on Monday, and that’s when players from the Portland Trail Blazers team were seen using iPads on the bench to study in-game footage. The players are saying that this has helped carry the team to its eleventh consecutive win.
Paul Allen’s team owns the third-best record in the league and is currently riding an impressive 11-game winning streak and its seems that Apple’s iconic tablet is also playing a role in this ongoing success. Ben Golliver with BlazersEdge further details:
Portland Trail Blazers’ players explain how the iPad study helps them in their game:
If you think you've seen the Blazers looking at iPads on the bench during games, your eyes are not deceiving you. Multiple members of the team are indeed viewing game tape on the bench, during games, with an eye towards strategic adjustments.
A quick survey of Portland's key players on this subject produced some interesting results. Lillard, Matthews, Batum and LaMarcus Aldridge all said that they are using iPads for help during games. Interestingly, they are pursuing individual approaches when it comes to what footage they want to watch, and they also have personal preferences about when and how they view the on-demand footage.
If this iPad scouting method during basketball games will prove to be useful, then it might become the norm in the NBA over the next few years.
It does [help] because you get to see it [again], and in the game everything happens so fast," Matthews, who finished with 17 points (on 6-for-14 shooting) and 6 rebounds, told Blazersedge. "You ask yourself, 'Did I rush it? I felt like I rushed it.' [The video can tell me] when I'm in that same situation -- off a flare screen, when Nic [Batum] passes over the top -- [if] I have more time to get the shot off or [if] I have to shoot it at that speed again. Or, could I have driven it?

The film can be purchased for $19.99 in high definition or $14.99 in standard definition. Also, a 24-hour rental is also available for $3.99 for standard definition or $4.99 for high definition.
The “Jobs” movie was released on August 16 and has received mixed reviews from critics; original Apple employees Daniel Kottke and Bill Fernandez criticized the movie for its inaccuracies. "Jobs" made just $6.7 million in the opening weekend, but it is the first feature-length title to take on the life of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs.

This inspiring and entertaining film chronicles Jobs’ early days as a college dropout to his rise as the co-founder of Apple Computer Inc. and forced departure from the company. His epic journey blazes a trail that changes technology – and the world – forever. JOBS is a riveting story of a true American visionary, a man who let nothing stand in the way of greatness. Co-starring Dermot Mulroney, Josh Gad, J. K. Simmons and Matthew Modine.
Of course, aside from iTunes, the "Jobs" movie is also for sale on Amazon in both digital and DVD formats.
The popular Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas game was first released for consoles back in 2004, selling more than 27.5 million copies worldwide since then. Now, it seems that Rockstar wants to bring the Grand Theft Auto game to iOS next month with full iOS game controller support.
Rockstar also released Grand Theft Auto: Vice City on iOS in 2012 and Grand Theft Auto III back in 2011.
Before GTAV took us to the sun-bleached sidewalks and humming concrete freeways of present-day Los Santos and beyond, there was Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, the biggest GTA of the PS2 era. Now, head back to the early 90s with CJ and the Grove Street Families when Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas comes to mobile devices next month.
Encompassing Los Santos, San Fierro, Las Venturas and everything in between, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas has been upgraded for its mobile release. Newly remastered graphics including dynamic and detailed shadows, greater draw distance, an enriched color palette, plus enhanced character and car models make this the best-looking version of San Andreas yet.
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas also features brand new touch controls including contextual control options to display buttons only when you need them and three different control schemes for driving and maneuvering, as well as a reworked checkpoint system for easier progression. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for mobile also comes equipped with full controller support, including Made for iOS controller capability on iOS7.
If you are looking to buy an iPad Air this Black Friday, you should consider this sweet deal, as well. Staples is selling the entry-level iPad Air 16GB WiFi space gray version for only $449, which is a discount of $50. Previously, Staples was selling the iPad Air for $479, after it has price-matched Walmart’s initial exclusive offer.
Apple’s iPad Air with Retina display with WiFi 32GB is available for $549, which is also a discount of $50 from its regular price of $599. Staples’ Black Friday deal also cuts up to $150 off the last generation iPad 4, but it’s hard to believe that this offer isn’t limited. So, hurry up if you want to make use of these sweet deals.
You can wait for the moment when Apple itself will unveil its Black Friday deals, but it’s pretty hard to believe that the Cupertino company will be willing to do some heaving discounting.
The Infinity Blade game is one of the best games to play on your iPhone or iPad and the game was actually showcased when Apple unveiled the iPhone 4S. Actually, the partnership between Apple and the company behind the game is very strong, as Infinity Blade II and Infinity Blade were also unveiled at the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s launch events.
Donald Mustard, creative director of Chair Entertainment developer said the following:
The original Infinity Blade game was released back in 2010 to critical acclaim and record-breaking app sales, despite its $5.99 retail price that might seem high when you compare it with other mobile games. The medieval touch-screen brawler was actually the first iOS game created in Unreal Engine 3 and it is now available for free in the App Store for the Thanksgivings week.
With millions of players worldwide, the original Infinity Blade remains one of the most popular games ever launched on the App Store. We're excited for this opportunity to invite even more gamers to try Infinity Blade and test their skills.

The iPad Mini 2 is an elusive device because of its short supply, so if you were looking to buy one but still haven’t managed to do it, maybe now is the right time. Walk-in purchases of Retina iPad Mini at Apple Retail Stores are finally possible, according to a new report from MacRumors. Eric Slivka from the same publication says the following:
This doesn’t mean that bottlenecks in the supply chain are over with, as Apple is still facing supply constraints. But now, if you can’t wait for your iPad Mini with Retina display to arrive at your home, you can walk into an Apple Store and purchase a Retina iPad mini without ordering online first.
The launch of walk-in sales was noted this morning in a research note from Cantor Fitzgerald analyst Brian White, who indicated that a number of New York City stores received shipments designated for walk-in customers last night and this morning. MacRumors has confirmed that walk-in sales are now being offered in some stores, although one store contacted by MacRumors reported that it was still offering only Personal Pickup options.
Cantor Fitzgerald analyst Brian White said the following:
Apple has also updated its iPad retail page in order to encourage customers to purchase in-store, rather than specifically noting that they should purchase the Retina iPad mini online.
We are finding broader availability across the country as we contact more Apple U.S. retail stores. Apple now appears better positioned to support customers for Black Friday next week; however, we believe supply still remains a wildcard.
