I was just wondering how to merge your ipad and iPhone so when when you get a text etc it will appear on both? Can anyone help me?

Make sure IMessages is on on both devices (settings > messages)

On the iPhone, go to settings > message> send and receive. Just make sure your phone number is grayed out and apple I'd email listed.

Now on the iPad do the same, go to settings > messages > send and recieve. Make sure you are signed into your apple I'd here, and all the info should link up (phone number)

Note that this will only give you messages that were send from other iDevices. If someone with an android phone or any other non-iDevices texts you, you can only get those on your phone.

I have tried all of the things you suggest....but still can't get my iMessages on my iPad. I can't even send iMessages from my iPad....unless I am sending a picture! Crazy and frustrating!

Do you use icloud? If not, try turning that on.

You don't need iCloud for messages...

But on your iPad be sure to enter any and all email addresses you use...this is how other idevices users can contact you. Don't enter just your apple ID because that may not be the email address others use to contact you. I never even give out my apple ID.

I have like six email addresses and my phone number used to reach me. You can also use one of these for sending. I use my cellphone number to send on. I think the iPad made that setting as I don't remember setting it.

Oh. Sorry, I didn't know if you turned icloud on that might sync your messages or something.
