Hi people,

I have a problem with my iBook app, when I click it, it opens for 2 seconds, I can see all the books and then it closes. I tried to restart my ipad, but its not working. Everything else works fine.

When I reset the ipad, will all the photos, apps and data remain on my ipad?

Here are the usual fixes. None of these will remove data from your iPad. If none of them work, let us know and we'll start guessing at the less likely solutions.


When you have problems with an app it's a good idea to clear it from RAM.

Close/Clear the app: With the problem app closed, double tap on the Home button to get the multitask bar. Tap and hold on any icon in the bar until they jiggle, then tap the minus sign on the problem app. This will remove it from RAM and insure a clean start the next time you launch the app.

If that does not work try a restart,
Restart: Hold down the power button until the power off slider appears. Slide it off. When the iPad finishes shutting down, hold down the power button again until the Apple logo appears.

and then a reset if that does not work.

Reset: Hold down the power and home buttons until the Apple logo appears. The iPad will reboot. This usually takes a bit longer than a restart.

Thanks for your quick reply, I already tried all the options, but even after reset ibooks is not working. It opens and after two seconds closes itself.

Should I erase the ibooks and install it new?

I also use kindle, which is working fine, but there is no possibilty to organise books into collections.

I just tried it again and it is suddenly working, dont know, how I did it
