    It said publication date on it but I'm not sure if it means the same thing as copyright or not

    Unless renewed, I believe the copyright expires 50 years after the author's death.

    Daniel deFoe died on 24th April 1731, so Robinson Crusoe would have gone out of copyright on the same date in 1781.

    Anyway, the correct answer appears to be that the book is no longer in copyright, and is therefore in the public domain.

    Copyright in the modern sense dates the the British Statute of Anne in 1710.

    FINALLY!!! I found the copyright date for Robinson crusoe!!

    It was 1958

    About to download Neil Young's memoir "Waging Heavy Peace" - Deluxe edition in iBooks. At the risk of shamelessly promoting
    one of my favourite artists, the e-book is quite the unit including songs and back stage concert footage and interviews.

    Despite the onset of decrepitude, I'm digging this e thing. Groovy baby. Groovy.
