Just a word of advice, I would really wait to go for the Captain achievements until you have all available machines. Since you have a juice machine available, and juices are the newest products you can make, boat orders will always ask you for juice, typically in large amounts. If you don't have the machine, you will have to constantly check to newspaper or depend on the kindness of others here. We really recommend getting your machines before worrying about achievements. It will make it much much easier.

Also since mining tools are scarce now if you don't have 5 Smelters you should consider holding off on getting anymore than you already have.

1. You'll be saving $$$.
2. You'll be saving space.

What do you guys spend your diamonds on? I'm currently hoarding them and maybe using them on finishing construction of new machines (if I'm very ipatient).

No no no no!!! Don't waste them on finishing ANYTHING early! Use them to add extra queue spots in all your machines. That way when you are away from the game, like while sleeping, your machines can be producing things the whole time.
