Hi, i'm 3 weeks into the game and i have lots of dying questions to ask. If any kind soul would help, i'll really appreciate.

1)Do the quality of the crops affects the chances of getting a good building tool (getting a TNT as compared to a Pack of Nails)? example, does harvesting wheat give me a slimmer chance to get a building tool as compared to harvesting pumpkins.
2) Berry Bushes, will they die off completely even after they get revived by our Facebook friends?
3) i tired to time the period that the newpaper takes to refresh itself, but i always get different timings. How long does the newpaper refreshes?
4)i'm constantly running out of money, is building lots of berry tress/bushes a good idea?
5) errant boy, is this totally random?

Pretty much what MickyMaid said, but I would like to include some of my observations... For number 1, yes it seems to be random, but when I was trying to go up the ranks, I did a lot of harvesting wheat. Because you harvest wheat so often, it seemed like I was getting more building materials. Maybe it was an illusion, but it sure seemed like I got stuff more often by repetatively harvesting wheat and then I sold off the excess wheat and harvested again. The key is to do it often, whereas the longer growing stuff you just don't harvest as often.

Also about the bushes and trees, I have quite a few, but I only harvest them as needed. I harvest them until they are full grown and then I leave them like that until I run out of something or I need them for a boat. That way I'm not constantly killing them off and I always have a supply ready when I need it. I don't sell them in my stall because everyone else is, but I want to have a ready supply for the trucks and boat.

My theory on finding items when harvesting crops is that there's a set number you have to harvest. When you hit that number you get your item and the counter resets. So if you continuously plant and harvest wheat then you will find items more often due to the short growth time. I think this is also true for animals and production buildings. I once collected a single popcorn from my popcorn maker and found a building item. Just a theory tho
