    Little newbie help

Here's some simple comments and hints for newbies:

Firstly, the shop is a very much real-time thing - its not at all uncommon to see something in your mailbox, go to the advertiser's stall and find it empty. That just means they have already sold the item(s) they were advertising. The shop is also somewhat tied in to your level, so finding nothing but "eggs" just means that the other farmers at your level have only eggs to sell. It does get better

Also, don't be afraid to decorate your farm ... it does boost your experience and unlocks more items, so throw in some flowers, line some fencing and add a stone path ... it not only looks nice, it helps you climb the farming ladder quicker.

In the beginning, its also a bit of a pain trying to increase the storage capacity of the barn and silo - the screws and bolts are a real pain to get hold of ... the nails and boards seem to be plenty abundant, so sell off any surplus and advertise them - they get snapped up really quick for the top asking price. Everyone needs those items so you'll always find a buyer. There's not a lot we can do about the screws and bolts unless they fix the coding..!

Because your storage is pretty tight, only keep enough animal feed on-hand for one "crop" at a time (so if you have 5 cows, only have 5-6 bags of cow feed - anything more is just taking up space). You can usually also grab feed from Greg early on, so you don't even need to make the feed when you are getting started. Once you start getting pigs into your farm, you will probably then start to need to make feed because Greg will start to reduce when he has feed available.

Crops are the life-blood of the farm, but its very easy to "spend" all of a particular crop by making feed or goods, so one way to safeguard against that is to set aside a single crop of every type in a different part of your farm so you don't accidentally reap it and lose it. It also helps to keep that in reserve when you just need that 1 extra crop to make goods or feed, so just remember if you reap it to immediately replace it.

Try to keep 1 of every item in stock as you go - there are SO MANY orders that need just 1 or 2 of an item, that if you have 1 already on-hand, it makes getting the orders out that much quicker (unlocking another achievement) and keeping the coins coming in. There are always a few "big hit" orders - like 15 bags of brown sugar - but the majority are "1 of these, and 1 of those" so try to keep 1 of everything on hand.

    Happy farming.

This is very good advise! I especially like the one about keeping one of each crop in a separate place. I have been doing this since almost the beginning and it has saved my behind more than once. I just keep a little "seed" garden in the back of my farm, really far from my other fields and I only use it when I "Oooops" and use my last of something from my regular fields.
