So this is an odd question probably, but have any of you ever noticed that someone's farm has reverted back to a previous level? Like someone on your friends list suddenly is lower than they were before, and their farm looks different too?

I'm surprised you noticed. Since it's my farm you are referring to, I'll tell you what happened. I logged into a friend's iPad who was also playing Hay Day but I logged in using my GC account. It then prompted me to either 1) play the current hay day game on that iPad (my friend's farm) or 2) play the hay day game saved in Game Center (which is my real farm). I clicked on 1 accidently and it changed my farm to a lower level of my friend's. Thinking I had lost my farm but upon logging back into my own iPad device, my own farm was restored. I did notice it happened to Rdubblr the other day too as you mentioned.
