iPad 2 with Netgear Range extender WN3000RP

just bought the Netgear Range Extender WN3000RP to increase the wifi signal at our cabin. Our neighbor has given us the ok to use their signal, along with the password. The signal is available but week inside the cabin. Any words of advice or help on the matter.

Run an extension cord up your wall that is nearest to your neighbor, get it as high as you can. Plug the unit in and see if the signal strength increases.
