Flipboard is a cool App for iPad where you can log in to your Twitter or Facebook, and it will make it into a great look magazine. So basically, it make your Social Network into something a bit more interesting to read. This is one of the coolest Apps I've seen on the iPad so far. For the cheap price of "free" you cant really fight with that.

Q. Is there any way to do that in Goodreader? If not, is there another app that will do it?
Thanks in advance for taking the time to read this and helping.

Then today the wife wanted to go to the mall and I went in the Apple store and they had 6 of the camera kits so I bought one. Works great, I took a SD card and loaded a bunch of pics and video clips. Video looks great. I guess we have to wait for OS4 to be able to move pics and video's into folders. Anyway it's a cool kit.

OmniFocus Finally Launches on iPad

Image: http://www.ipadforums.net/wallpapers/data/501/omnifocus.JPG (http://www.ipadforums.net/wallpapers/apple-wallpapers/p502-omnifocus.html)

The long-awaited OmniFocus for iPad has only been out a day and it's already in the Top Paid iPad App chart, as well as heading straight to the top of the Top Grossing iPad Apps chart, no wonder really as it costs a massive £23.99/$39.99! OmniFocus is basically a task management app that syncs with OmniFocus for iPhone and OmniFocus for Mac, and offers lots of professional features for users.

Among the most notable features of OmniFocus for iPad is a Quick Entry function for fast, easy task capture, which enables tasks to be organised on the fly, or stored in the OmniFocus for iPad inbox. Items can be sorted into projects and folders with as much hierarchy as needed.

Forecast is a new feature which displays a weekly view of due items, and OmniFocus also has the ability to display tasks by work mode or context, for example, tapping "Phone" context will pull up only phone-related tasks.

Other features of the app include a built-in search, the ability to automatically sync Perspectives from OmniFocus for Mac, a Library view of all projects, and much more.

Although it certainly does seem a very expensive app, even for business users, I've been checking out the customer reviews in the US and UK iPad App Stores, and many seem to say that it is worth the money for those who require this level of organisation, simply because it's so well done.

Hi all,

I have had the misfortune of having my bosses IPad stolen out of my suitcase on the way home to South Africa from the US yesterday/today....

Hi all,

I have had the misfortune of having my bosses IPad stolen out of my suitcase on the way home to South Africa from the US yesterday/today. I bought myself and my boss each an IPad in June and had it shipped to my brother in the US who I have just been visiting. I used mine while in New York for the past 10 days or so and took it in my on-board luggage but kept my bosses' 64GB 3G in the sealed box and packed it into my luggage for the journey home. When I got to SA this morning and picked up my bags, I could immediately see that they had been tampered with and both locks broken off. Only the IPad (and a kindle that I got for my wife) are missing, fortunately they didn't take the perfumes and some of the other things but I'm obviously highly peeved and down $1100. Hopefully the airline or insurance will pay out but it's little consolation...

So my questions for all of you, is there any way to blacklist an IPad with apple? I don't think it'll ever be recovered but knowing that it's unusable will make me feel a lot better. Same with the Kindle if anyone knows about that. I have the serial numbers of both devices.

I don't know whether it was stolen in SA or in the US but my suspicions are that it was at JFK since they x-rayed the bags there and would have known exactly what was inside. It was almost as if they targeted my 2 bags and knew what they were looking for.

Thanks!
Dale

American iPad Users Pay A High Price for Data

Wired reports that American iPad owners are paying through the nose for their iPad data services, at least according to a company called Tableau Software, that has come up with a chart comparing how much different countries pay around the world in terms of dollars per GB of data on the iPad. It turns out that Hong Kong and Singapore have the cheapest data rates, with plans that come to under one-twentieth the cost per GB paid by US consumers.

"You can get a GB of data for 51 cents in Singapore," said Ross Perez, a data analyst at Tableau Software. "What's so special about the US that we pay so much more?" he asks, noting the comparison with the 2GB of data you get for a whopping $25 per month in the US.

However, as Wired points out, at least America isn't the most expensive country on the list, with that dubious honour going to France, Belgium and Luxembourg.

Dropped my 64gb 3G/WiFi onto a marble floor the other day. Of course it dropped right on the corner where the power button is located. Jammed the power button on so it kept cycling on and off, bulge on the case, and the rubber gasket popped out just along the corner. I was able to get it so the power button functioned about 90% of the time, so it was semi-useable. Very surreal moment as I watched it fall out of my hands and onto the floor, ouch!

Several options, I bought it with a platinum Visa, which adds some damage protection, but they deemed it "cosmetic" (should have used my Plat AmEx, they never hassle me), had also added it as a rider to my homeowner's insurance for $9.00 per year X 2 (bought 2 of them), covered with a $50 deductible, my agent STRONGLY suggested I not make a claim as it would impact my renewal, another entire story.

I went into the Apple store yesterday after making a genius appointment. Asked about a repair. Was told the repair cost would be $419.00 and I would walk out with a new iPad. I said ok, he swapped out the sim card, wiped the memory on the old unit, verified the new one was working, and I walked out 15 minutes later. I was surprised they had 64gb 3G/WiFi in stock, maybe they keep some for warranty swaps. I also have Apple care on them, but that didn't play into the situation.

I guess I should keep the new one in a case, but I really like using the dock.

Just getting my apps organized and asked the web for help and they led me to your community. I've already picked up some great tips. Thanks.

I'm using my 3G ipad as book reader, bible study tool, web surfer, notetaker, cooking tool, photo album, math researcher/tool, mail surfer, additional projector source and life extender for my Macbook Pro. (And I have a few games. . . ) Looking for the camera kit but have the external keyboard and projector connector. Love the stylus and the larger keyboard on the screen. Phones are too small for my weaker eyes. Sigh.

Question for the Christians in the community: What do you use for Bibles and Bible study et al?

I have Olive Tree (great stuff) and Logos (but await the Accordance app as that is what is on my other computers). I also have the ESV app, Holy Bible and several music apps (HouseFM and Worship Music) .

It seems not a day goes by without news of another possible "iPad-killer" tablet in development by one of Apple's many rivals, but Bloomberg has a significant story today stating that Research in Motion LTD (RIM), who makes the BlackBerry, is planning to release a tablet as soon as November to rival the iPad.

According to Bloomberg's sources, who wished to remain anonymous but who were "familiar with the company's plans", the new tablet will be very similar in size to the iPad, and will include Wi-Fi and Bluetooth that will enable users to connect to the Internet via their BlackBerry.
