Dragonvale Tips & Tricks! (NO Friend Requests!)

Hey everyone. I am new to this forum and this is my first post! Lol. I just got my new iPad on my birthday not even 2 weeks ago and got sucked into Dragonvale - this game is soooo addicting. I'm already on level 16, about to buy my 3rd island, have a Butterfly Dragon (my first one) about to hatch in a few hours and a sun/moon/rainbow ( don't know which one yet and my first 48 hour dragon) which should be ready to start incubating 2morrow night. My name is Eric and since my birthday is in May I obviously want to get the Emerald dragon ASAP (hence my user name "Emerald Eric" lmao. I hope everyone is having good luck getting the dragons they want, especially the limited ones.

Speaking of limited dragons: could someone please provide a full list of the limited dragons available right now or maybe a link where they update them, so I don't miss out on any cool, rare dragons? Also I briefly read of an update coming very soon to Dragonvale including gem dragons, a new island etc. If anybody has info on this update please let me know - also how do I download the update, I'm an iPad newb, this is my first one . It may already be released for all I know...

Anyways good luck breeding and building everyone - oh and waiting! . Hopefully I will have time to post here fairly often. Happy early weekend, keep ur heads up cause a 3 day weekend is right around the corner! . Lata!

You can breed the new gemstone dragons, you do not have to purchase them

That's interesting. I will wait for someone to list a combo that really works. It clearly says in the description it cannot be bread! Also, the huge amount of gems required to upgrade incubation times is crazy. I'm not buying gems. Can't afford The luxury.

Hello Eric, Welcome to our Addiction. For a newbie, it sounds like you have done well with the Butterfly dragon and a 48 hr. Rare. Yay!

To answer your questions, the Butterfly is listed as a limited dragon. I would recommend to try for a second, just in case if you would like to get more down the road. To update your game, you will need to go to the app store and search for dragonvale and you will see the update there to download. There is a new emerald dragon and I got it in four tries with lichen and crystal. Do you have these dragons? Also are you able to purchase the Epic Breeding Island? As you will need them to get the new dragon. Good luck!

Got it with lichen/crystal. I would not upgrade, as it sounds like it just shorten the time by an hour or two. However, I would get the new gems island, where you can purchase it with DC. Good luck!

Crystal and lichen worked for me, it took a few tries but it finally worked 

Wow I think it worked from the first go.. Incubation time 31 hrs

Try switching the placement to lichen/crystal got it after 3 consecutive tries.

Welcome Emerald Eric.. LOL.. I think the currently available limited dragon is the Butterfly.. And i have heard that some people even get the Dodo now though it doesnt show up in the market.. The update is released now.. Happy breeding!!

I don't think I used crazy amounts of gems to speed the fail attempts, I was lucky as they were only six hours as to 48 hrs. It's baking in the oven now and I am going to wait.
