OK, so we just calculated that using a one hour cycle breeding Airs and/or Sandstorms produces $1M of gold coins for $0.14. By comparison, BFS offers 4.9 million gold coins for $1.99, which comes to $0.41 for each million of gold coins - just about 3X more expensive than using the breeding cycle. Discrepancies like that in the real world (ugh!) can be the difference between a company succeeding or failing. It's really fun to find discrepancies and inefficiencies in financial markets and I've been doing it for a long time as it can be rewarding. But back to Dragonvale. I'm really enjoying my respite from the real world (ugh!).
