I'll be able to answer the question myself in a couple of weeks, but I thought maybe someone would have an opinion, and a reason for that opinion.

I picked the iPad because it is so much lighter and easier to bring along. I have not tried the specific keyboard you mentioned - I think that might be the big factor for you - if you can use the keyboard at the speed and efficiency you desire.

What I like about an iPad is that I can de-couple it from the keyboard. You can't do that with a laptop. A laptop basically takes up the space of the quarter sphere which the top of the screen and the front edge of the keyboard make. The iPad, when detacted from the keyboard, has very little volume. I think of it this way because this dictates how each may be used. While I would certainly agree that if I can only have one, I would keep the laptop because I have to earn a living...but since I have both, and I have a choice here, the real-life decision is different.
I'm going to do a head-to-head prizefight between the MBA 13 and the new iPad w/ ultra-thin KB cover.

My MBA 13 (see above) weighs a tiny bit over 3 lbs with no sleeve. My iPad 3, with Ultrathin, and inside this Hard Candy protective case weighs 2 lb, 14 oz.
