The iPad needs 10w to "fully" charge - that's more than most USB ports provide.

If you have a new-ish computer (like in the last couple years) you iPad should charge - just slowly - when it's asleep. If the screen is on, however, it's not charging.

The battery is great so no need to plug in like a Iphone or Ipod while playing games or what not.

Not really a good poll. If you need to use it then you use it....that includes when it is plugged it.

It lasts all day. I charge it at night while sleeping. I often watch a movie to fall asleep with and the movie cuts off when done if I fall asleep first. So it's not used much while charging.

Mine ran low today while using it, so I plugged it in and kept going.
The chord is so short I had to hunker near the edge of the couch. (I believe you can now buy a longer chord)

When my iPad is plugged into my computer it only charges when its asleep, not when on.

using the iPad is fine when its charging, may just take longer to charge

Haven't used it once while charging- haven't needed too. First computer that I haven't had to worry about when it comes to battery life.

I charge mine when the batt is less than ten percent which takes about two days of use...
