Until you install 4.2.1 then your battery life will decrease fast anyways.
It will be the same size screen wise....just a little thinner.
Why is it so hard to believe the new screen res?
I've had 4.2.1 on it since it was released and never noticed an appreciable difference in battery life although I always close out the apps via the dock tray after use.
As for scvreen resolution, the original has only been out since April and developers are still getting used to the iPad and porting their apps to it so I doubt Apple would be so keen to change one of the fundamental components so early in it's life. It's one thing to increase CPU power or add new features like a camera but another to change a fixed screen resolution.
Hi, new here, but does anyone have any idea whether the ipad 2 c/ the alledged usb port will let ya use an air card instead of beine held captive to ATT for 3G access?
thanks,
shiregirl
Be aware that I'm most cases battery life has not changed with the upgrade. If you have reduced battery life it most likely is due to the set up on your ipad and or an application that is running in back ground that is causing it. Push email brightness of screen etc will have returned to default state so check to makes sure they are correct. Hope that helps
If this is the case, they should only have one model, say a 32gb. Make consumers pay 599$ for it, then they can use external drives to access other media they may have a need for at the moment. Thatd be awesome. I would totally buy another if they integrated usb. Usb is called usb because it stands for UNIVERSAL Serial Bus. If they restricted access from it, theyd clearly be in violation of the industry standard would they not?
Well, i did see a commercial for Verizon offering some kind of wireless air card recently. Of course, with any data service, you will be tied to a provider either way. Hopefully we can learn to adopt European model of being able to actually choose what we want when we want it on any carrier at any time simply by swapping sim cards around. I think America's companies are way too greedy for their own good. It would really make the providers try to innovate new technologies to best the others if consumers had choices, wouldnt you think?
As for your question, no. I dont believe thisll happen given Apple's track record.
what I dont like with the current ipad is that you're held hostage to using ATT for 3G -- I would like to use my sprint aircard - that I use for my apple laptop and my desktop at work -- and while, I'm on this topic, why just 3G? where is 4G? or is their technology as fast or faster than 4G? A little unknowledgeable on this ..
thanks,
julie
you can prolly use any air card to get internet to the att 3g (and just turn off 3g) or the standard wifi iPad or vzw iPad...
