Macrumors reports that CBS.com is testing HTML5 Video support that would be fully compatible with the iPad and replace the need for Flash video support. This might be a huge victory for Apple and could lead the way for other large media companies to make the switch as well. Youtube.com is another site that is currently testing video playback using the HTML5 standards. I believe once the iPad hits the market, we will see a rush for web developers to redesign websites in order to be iPad friendly.

Webkit is the browser engine used in the iPad’s mobile safari. While the videos don’t currently play, the “fullscreen mode” reportedly already works in the iPad simulator.
