MacRumors reports today that Autodesk has finally released the Sketchbook Ink app that was used to showcase the newest iPad when Apple launched it back in March. The app introduces unique technology to enable artists to create stunning high-res ink-style art on the iPad. According to MacRumors, the app boasts seven different strokes using virtual ink that is so realistic it even leaves marks on the virtual page that make it look like the ink has soaked into the “paper”. According to a report on Technologizer as quoted by MacRumors, Sketchbook Ink is a marked improvement on Autodesk’s other sketching app, Sketchbook Pro, in as much as the drawings that you sketch are resolution independent, rather than bitmaps, meaning that they can be zoomed in on to your heart’s content, and can also be saved to the iPad’s Photo Library, Dropbox, or iTunes, or emailed at resolutions even higher than 2048x1536, making it perfect for printing.
