The Verge reports that Facebook has just updated its iOS Facebook Messenger app with a couple of new features, in particular read receipts, which add the word “seen” underneath a message when it has been read by the person that you sent it to. It’s quite a sophisticated new feature, as it even works for group messages, by marking off the names of each person in the group that you’ve emailed that has read the message. The live-typing indicator has also been updated, by now indicating the name of the person that is typing a response to you, instead of just showing ... to let you know that a response is being typed. And as with read receipts, this feature also works in group message situations. Another new feature of the update is the fact that location data attached to a message can now be viewed from the main message window, whereas before you would have had to access a different screen to see location information.
