The Verge reports today that following on from last week's rumours predicting an imminent update, the Facebook iOS app has indeed had an update today, which includes support for the new iPad’s Retina display. As The Verge notes, Facebook has taken its own sweet time producing this update, as indeed it did coming up with an iPad app at all! The Verge points out that other top apps such as The New York Times, Skype, Kindle, Kayak and Netflix were all updated very quickly following the introduction of the new iPad, and The Verge says that its developer sources told it that the updates were very easy to do, taking just two days in some cases. Still, it's here now, yay! Aside from Retina display support, the new update also features an offline chatting facility, as well as support for more languages, including Czech, and the usual assorted bug fixes. One thing the update doesn’t include, however, is support for Facebook’s new Timeline profile pages, The Verge notes.
