Rovio Entertainment has today announced the release of Angry Birds Space for iOS and Mac, marking the first integrated entertainment launch for Rovio, with merchandise, animation and books available in retail at the same time as the game. Angry Birds Space takes that familiar pig-bashing gameplay that we all know and love and expands it to the farthest reaches of the galaxy, from floating in space in zero gravity to using the gravity of nearby planets to set up spectacular trick shots. Fans can look forward to brand new birds, all-new superpowers, and a whole galaxy to explore.

"This is Rovio at its finest, and we are more than excited to bring Angry Birds Space to all our fans worldwide,” said Mikael Hed, CEO of Rovio. “This launch marks a huge step for us as a company, and our whole team and partners have really pulled together to bring out a fantastic array of exciting products and experiences. Angry Birds Space features 60 levels initially, and as usual there will be regular updates to the game as the weeks go by. Even more content is available through in-app purchase. Many hidden treats are included in the game, such as secret levels and space content. The iPad version has full Retina display support.

I really got tired of all the other Angry Birds iterations. This one is, IMNSHO, more fun than any of the others. Still learning it ... but a neat game.
