Spacetime Studios today announced the third iOS title in its Legends franchise – Dark Legends. In the game, players get to embrace the secret societies of vampires and challenge the hordes of undead, werewolves, demons and humans that hunt them. Fans of the Legends series’ previous games, Pocket Legends and Star Legends will find themselves even deeper drawn into the Legends experience, with a fast-paced combat system including new mechanics such as charge attacks and the ability to drain enemies. A wide variety of solo and multiplayer content will also be available.
According to Spacetime, the most important difference between Dark Legends and the previous two games is that the new game has a much deeper focus on narrative. In addition to the story that will be communicated during the 3D multiplayer missions, players will also periodically have the option to complete quick action missions with a single tap. These missions use short cut scenes to create an interactive storybook, where players experience the life of a vampire up-close and personal. The developer says that its goal with Dark Legends was to combine casual, strategic advancement content with its award-winning real-time 3D multiplayer system, to create a blend of gameplay previously unseen.
Dark Legends opens with the player recently raised and under the direction of the vampire that sired them. The secret existence of vampires has been exposed, and angry, misguided humans are uniting to exterminate the undead plague by any means necessary. It’s up to the player to work with their clan to survive this brutal new world.“With each entry to the Legends franchise we raise the bar for the pick-up-and-play MMO space,” said Gary Gattis, CEO, Spacetime Studios. “The changes between Pocket Legends and Star Legends were significant, but Dark Legends is a quantum leap forward in interactive storytelling! Players can live the dark fantasy anytime, anywhere, with anyone.”
Doubtless Spacetime Studios will be hoping that Dark Legends follows in the successful footsteps of Pocket Legends and Star Legends, which together have been downloaded more than seven million times, making it the world’s largest mobile MMO franchise.
