Atari has today released a brand, spanking new and reinvigorated iOS version of one of the best loved video games of all time, with Breakout: Boost+. This latest version of the brick-breaking classic boasts 100 new levels with all the challenging and frenetic action of the original hit that achieved over two million downloads in the first month after launch.


Although the original arcade game was very basic, this latest version adds Boost Control, which enables players to manually adjust the ball’s speed, scaling up the speed to increase the score multiplier. Special ball upgrades to aid your destruction are also included, such as the Fire, Acid, Splitting and Grenade balls. And as for the bricks that you’re trying to break, you’ll find a host of new and unique brick varieties in your way, including Exploding, Mystery, x4 and Metal. Other tweaks include the ability to save and restore in-progress games, so that you can stop and start the games whenever you like. And there’s Game Center and OpenFeint integration as standard, of course, with score leaderboards and achievements.
