AppleInsider reports today on a new survey from the Pew Research Center, which finds that tablet ownership in the US rose from 10% before Christmas to 19% in January 2012, indicating that tablets, along with e-book readers, were favourite presents this holiday season.
The report did not specifically mention the iPad, although it did mention that Amazonís Kindle Fire and Barnes and Nobleís Nook Tablet both sold well. However, as AppleInsider notes, although Pew might not have mentioned the iPad by name, itís a pretty sure bet that when Appleís iPad sales figures are revealed in its quarterly earnings report tomorrow, it will be shown to have dominated tablet sales in the fourth quarter. Only a day to go to find out!"These findings are striking because they come after a period from mid-2011 into the autumn in which there was not much change in the ownership of tablets and e-book readers," said Pew. "However, as the holiday gift-giving season approached, the marketplace for both devices dramatically shifted."
