What is and will be the juiciest talk in town until March? The iPad 3 of course. As the launch day draws near a number of manufactures have began producing protective cases and covers. That’s all swell, but the recent reports inform us that the cases appear to be built for a slightly thicker tablet.

Let’s take a better look at things: Reportedly case producer “Chinee” from China has began selling a case that is apparently targeted for a certain “iPad 2S”. Does that mean the iPad will follow the iPhone’s peril? We have already heard the rumors who say that the next generation iPad will probably look exactly like the iPad 2, but will be extra thicker. Chinee said that the product targeted by the so called “iPad 2S” cases is a tablet 1MM thicker than the iPad 2.

The fact that iPad 2S/3 cases have already appeared on the market, must signal to enthusiasts that the reports saying that Apple kicked started the iPad 3 production in January are probably true. Beside the fatty look, the new iPad is also said to have a quad-core processor, Retina Display, Siri Dictation support and LTE network capabilities.

Among other interesting features, the next iPad should sport an improved camera with a FaceTime HD camera geared up front and improved lens on the back. All in all, we have seen fake “iPhone 5” cases, so there’s a massive possibility that these “iPad 2S” cases could turn out to be fake as well - we shouldn’t jump to any conclusions at this point.
