Apple iPad 3 to feature quad-core processor, high res display, LTE

Following the Consumer Electronics Show, more and more rumors are popping up in order to stir the hot imagination of costumers everywhere. Yes we’ve been talking about the iPad 3 for months now, but now there’s a launch date attached to the gossip, how exciting!

So, Bloomberg apparently knows the details so many Apple enthusiasts have been trying to unearth. The next generation iPad will sport a HD screen, a faster processor, 4G LTE connectivity and it’s scheduled to go on the market in just a few short months – March to be exact. It looks like Apple’s Asian partners who are in charge of manufacturing the devices have already started working on the device. Implementing a quad-core chip is certainly good news, since it will allow more multitask operations to be performed. Apple is surely considering the competition when deciding to go for the quad-core chip. Just look at how well received was the Asus EeePad Transformer Prime.

We are hearing some more details about the display, which will be able to compete with your trusty friend the HD TV set, having pixels small enough to give the image the appearance of a printed material. Surely, this doesn’t come as a surprise at all. Since the iPhone had the retina display for a while now, it’s pretty logic that this feature will be incorporated into the iPad too.

There’s silence coming from Apple’s headquarters who has no made any official statement regarding the truth or falsity of the leaked details. But if we look back in time, the iPad 2 was launched on March 2 and hit the stores in the U.S. on March 10, so Apple might try and stick to the pattern.
