Burn The City is a great new iOS game from indie Canadian developer JoshOClock. In the game, you take on the role of an adorably cute little monster whose family has been kidnapped by pesky humans. Understandably, you’re more than a little peeved at this effrontery, and set off on a revenge mission, spitting molten hot fireballs and other missiles at the hapless human’s houses as you go.

The game features 45 levels, all jam-packed with Angry Birds-style intuitive, physics-based gameplay. Aside from your searing fireball attack you can also obtain three different special attacks by eating coloured YUMs that are hidden in crates scattered around the level. Destroy the crates to get the YUMs. The first attack you can get is a green explosive shot, the second is “Sniper”, which gives better accuracy across longer distances, and the third is “Nuke”, which unleashes a nuclear blast when you tap the screen. Just like Angry Birds, Burn The City has a very simple premise, but the idea of destroying all those buildings with a crash, bang, wallop and sizzle is just so irresistible!
