I think it's a combination of the two. My phone (BB Bold 9700) takes better pictures, and well, it's smaller. You'd look silly walking around town with an IPad. It's good for YouTube and webcam though, I'm sure.

I think it's a combination of the two. My phone (BB Bold 9700) takes better pictures, and well, it's smaller. You'd look silly walking around town with an IPad. It's good for YouTube and webcam though, I'm sure.

The iPhone 4 is just so much easier to use to take photos with anyway.

I have a Canon XSi DSLR but take a lot of pics with my iPhone 4 because I always have it with me and it has reasonable quality for snapshots. The iPad lives at home and has a piss poor camera. They might as well have left the rear facing camera off IMHO.

The weird thing was, the first time I video Skyped someone on iPad 2, the person commented on how great the picture was. I chalked it up to bad vision.
Given that the pic size is quite small at the other end, it probably was of fairly good quality -- pixels are sacrificed for smoother 'animation'.
