Great news for SpongeBob fans all over the world today (both young and old!) with Nickelodeon announcing that it has just launched SpongeBob Moves In for iOS, which is kind of like SpongeBob’s version of Sim City! The new app gives fans a whole new way to interact with their favourite characters from the massively popular animated TV series. In the game, you get to build your own Bikini Bottom, and keep the city’s residents in good spirits by catering to their needs, collecting happiness to fill the town’s happiness meter. Keep citizens happy by feeding them Krabby Patties from the Krusty Krab, for example, or getting them flowers from the Flower Shop. As you progress through the game you’ll be able to unlock app-exclusive stories about how favourite characters such as SpongeBob himself, best friend Patrick Starfish, Mr. Krabs, tiny villain Plankton, Squidward and Sandy, all came to live in Bikini Bottom. These exclusive stories are all written by SpongeBob SquarePants writing staff, and will be told in the form of animated short videos.
Let’s hope this is as big a hit as the Simpsons’ city-building game. It’s already getting great reviews in the App Store, so sounds like Nickelodeon is onto a winner!“Millions of fans around the world experience the fun and magic of SpongeBob on television every day, and now they can live out their very own Bikini Bottom adventures with SpongeBob Moves In whenever and wherever they want,” said Steve Youngwood, EVP and General Manager, Digital, Nickelodeon Group.
The game is available in eight languages worldwide, including English, Spanish, German, and French.
