Actually, you won't know how a narrower bezel affects you until you have it for a while. Me neither. I'm just so used to the current design. I don't wanna be launching apps by accident. That will get annoying rather quickly!

Not a problem on the mini....but for all on my tablets with the exception of my Nexus 7, I generally hold them in landscape mode, not 100% of the time, but most of the time. Even for PDFs based on a page. Still, I too have some concerns about the narrower bezel, but if going that way results in a iPad big that I can hold for long periods in my hands on the couch, then I'm good, as long as it works (no mis-launches).

CiccareseDesign also studied the pictures of the iPad 5 shell placed next to an iPad mini enclosure, and used these to come up with a render showing both products, with the aim of comparing the size of various different Apple devices. As MacRumors notes, you can also see in the render that the fifth-gen iPad will have smaller top and bottom bezels than that of the fourth-gen iPad, and thinner side bezels in portrait mode. They have also managed to give you some idea of the thinness of the iPad 5, which is said to be around 2 mm thinner than the fourth-gen iPad, in fact around the same thickness as the current iPad mini. As to when we can expect this next full-size iPad to arrive in stores, MacRumors suggests September-October.

From my experience I don't like devices with screen close to edges.

You hold your iPad in your hands the whole time while on the sofa? Mine is in my lap so I am not holding anything.

I usually hold in landscape mode too. Even carrying the iPad though could make you touch the wrong thing although launching an app by accident isn't the end of the world I suppose. Well have to see how this shakes out. What you don't want is battery intensive apps being launched accidentally too often. That would drive me nuts.

Its on your lap because it is too heavy to hold in your hands!

But I don't always hold it in my hands..but I like to hold it in my hands...even the larger one. I'm a tall guy too, so stuff in my lap is a good bit way from me. I like to hold it so it fits with what I'm doing...and most of the time its in my hands when I'm on the couch. At work, my iPad big is on the desk. Never hold it in my hands there...but then I have all this desk space for it.

Lol. At work mine is either on my lap or on desk. I like the weight, don't want it to feel cheap.

I rest my ipad and my MacBook Air on my pet pillow which sits on my lap. I am currently doing this as we speak. I don't like to hold it if I don't have to. By the end of a work day, by arms are very tired from the manual therapy I do at work. So, using a pet pillow gives my arms and hands a needed rest at the end of the day!

I got some cheap dumbbells that are cheap but heavy.

I must admit this lap thing is surprising to me. I don't ever put mine in my lap. Never even thought to do that.
