Apple to Launch iPad Mini and Revamped Regular iPad After iPhone 5
AppleInsider reports today on the views of KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who has told investors that he believes that Apple is preparing to launch two different iPads following on from the launch of the next iPhone, which he says will be in September. He thinks that Apple will announced a new, mini version of the iPad in September, and he also backs up talk of a refresh to the regular iPad line, saying that the various tweaks due to be applied to the newest version of the regular-sized iPad are nothing to do with the unitís looks, which will remain the same, but which are designed to reduce component costs and also stop the device from getting too hot. Kuo says to expect this refreshed iPad in October. He doesnít have a release date for the iPad mini, but it will most likely be shortly after the September launch. Kuo says that although he doesnít think that the iPad mini will rack up particularly huge sales initially, by the time the holiday season rolls around, it could do very well indeed, with sales of over 13 million units, which would be more than the regular-sized iPad.
