China Could Finally be Getting the New iPad
The Next Web reports that as has been widely expected following Apple’s settlement of its trademark dispute with Chinese company Proview, the release of the new iPad in China is now imminent. The Next Web writes that according to a story on Chinese-language blog PC Pop, which was translated via MIC Gadget, a source has revealed that the newest version of the iPad will be released in China on July 27. It is unusual that Apple has taken so long to release this latest version of the iPad in China, and it doesn’t take much of a leap to conclude that Apple was waiting for the court case to be settled, especially as the actual name of the iPad was the reason why Proview was suing Apple. The Next Web notes that given the crowd unrest that occurred in China when the iPhone 4S was launched there, resulting in stores having to be closed early, Apple may well take steps to ensure that the stores are prepared for such scenes this time around.
