New iPad 3 Pictures Appear Showing it Has an 8 Megapixel Rear Camera
MacRumors posts new pictures that have surfaced today that are said to be of the back of an iPad 3, as well as a shot comparing the back view of all three iPad models. MacRumors notes that the tapered edge of the latest iPad seems to be longer and more gradual than that of the iPad 2, with the camera actually situated in the tapered area. The lens also looks noticeably larger, and MacRumors says that the site that posted the images, NextMedia, says that the iPad 3 will have an 8 megapixel back camera, which if true would mark a big step up from the iPad 2’s 1 megapixel rear camera. It’s hard to say how genuine this picture is, as according to MacRumors, NextMedia has only posted one previous rumor, but that one rumor, back in 2010, about the launch of new MacBooks, MacBook Pros and MacBook Airs did prove to be correct in the end, so maybe the photo is indeed genuine. We’ll soon know either way, as its widely thought that Apple will be launching the next iPad on March 7.
