iLounge Editor Says He Has Held the iPad 3
9to5 Mac reports on a story today on iLounge written by its editor Jeremy Horwitz, who says that yesterday he was shown, and even allowed to hold, an iPad 3 at CES in Las Vegas. To establish the credibility of the story, it should be said that at last yearís CES, it was Horwitz who had an exclusive on a mock-up of an iPad 2 case that proved to be legitimate. As to what Horwitz made of the new iPad 3, well much of what he says backs up previous reports that have been floating around about the new iPad. He says that the body is a little thicker than the iPad 2, possibly around 1mm thicker, although this is barely noticeable on first examination. According to Horwitz, the change is so slight that the new iPad will still fit into iPad 2 cases. All the buttons and the speaker on the iPadís edges remain unchanged, it would seem, as do the headphones and dock connector ports. Horwitz also noticed changes on the rear of the iPad that might indicate a bigger and better camera. Again, this is something that has also been put forward in various other speculative reports over the past few weeks. Iím starting to think there might be something to this March iPad 3 launch lark!
