Hey all. Just logged in for the first time. Why? Well, my son dropped my new iPad 2 and shattered the screen. Oops. Was encouraged to see the thread about the unofficial warranty for dropped units. I'll find out for myself if the fantasy is real in a day or two. Right now we are in Singapore heading to Chicago tonight; will be looking for am Apple Store on Sunday...
Good to hear from you. You’ll find a whole bunch of iPad enthusiasts in this Forum who are only too willing to help other iPad owners and to hear of their experiences. Don’t be afraid to post any questions you may have or use the ‘Search’ button near the top of the Forum web page. I usually find I discover one new interesting and useful piece of information about my iPad every day - and often not even what I was looking for!!

It's not a fantasy - but you need to approach them correctly. It's not a right - it's totally unofficial, it's at their discretion - so you need to be polite and humble and hopefully it will work out. Let us know how you get on.
