Awhile back I upgraded to iOS 6 on my 3rd gen iPad. I quickly discovered that I could no longer connect to the Internet using my Verizon 3G hotspot so I restored to iOS 5.x.

When I download the restore file it is a zip file.
I unzip it and none of the files end with ipsw
I then connect my iPad to iTunes and when it asks me for a file I go to the unzipped file and nothing wants to open
