Smtp password issue
Am a forum and iPad newbie. Can receive email on ipad2 but cannot send a message or reply to one. It says I need to enter the smtp password. However my ISP does not require a password for the smtp server. I see lots of folks with similar problems. Can anyone help. I have deleted the account and reentered it.
From memory ( been awhile since using POP3/SMTP mail), I recall the username and password is the same as your email account and the server may need to authenticate who you are, particularly for ISP based email accounts being connected to from outside their "network".
