A friend of mine is won't to double-ziplock his ipad and take it in the shower with him. Personally, I think it's harmless and sort of fun, but I was wondering if any of you folks had any experience with this sort of thing, because I'm thinking about trying it. I just think it'd be awesome to have reddit in the shower, but maybe that's just the little dumbass sitting on my shoulder talking. Thanks folks. :D

Most definitely not recommended. One would, at the very least, have to be pretty confident in the inpenetrability of the Ziplok bag - even with two - to chance this. Why risk several hundred dollars-worth of sophisticated electronics? I'm paranoid when I take my iPad out to the car and it's raining. Shower - no way? There have been reports in the Forum of people using their iPad in the bath - in that case with disastrous consequences - but in a shower seems 'unusual' to say the least.Quote:

I can't get over this inane desire by some folks to drag an expensive electronic device into the bathtub or shower. Electronics and water do NOT mix and always results in disastrous consequences for either the user, the device or both. If I want to watch something, it'll be mounted on a stand on the sink or closed toilet lid within view and if I want to read something, I'll bring a magazine or a book. At least I know if I get THAT wet, it'll only cost me $2-$8 to replace instead of several hundred. Rather I prefer taking nothing with me to the tub at all. I just enjoy a nice, quiet soak with my eyes closed or dimmed room, a candle light plus some incense going, sometimes with soothing music, which is pretty relaxing and stress-reducing.

LOL thanks for the heads up everyone. I hadn't even considered the humidity issue, to be honest. I think my heart would shatter in a million pieces if I ended up busting my device the first day! :P

A few years back I was asked to look at laptop which was dropped into tub. A wipe with alcohol and a dry and it worked. I've kept for myself, was my first notebook.
