Can someone please explain the difference between a badge and alert?
Not sure this will be clear but I have an app I use to monitor calories and I have it set to display a badge to show the amount totalled up to date. The badge shows overlapping but on the side of the app icon much as the upgrade numbers do for the app store (which may be considered a "badge" possibly) Its the only app of mine I can think of I have "badged". OTOH, I have my calendar set to send alerts 2 days before an event by email and a sound alert set for the day before to get my attention. Maybe someone else can clarify but tjis is how I understand them.
Diane
Thanks guys
The badge is the little red circle on the top left corner of the app button with a number in it. Like the email or text message button telling u how many unread messages u have.
How do we control each?
Thanks!
The app controls badges. You can turn notifications on and off in settings.
What about 'alerts' ?
I am using a VoIP app called Line2 which sends me an alert/popup
each time I get a text on ipad2.
How about an app that can control this?
That is a notification.Quote:
