Just signed up for 3G. Wondering.....does it matter if u leave it on and don't use the 3G? Are we using any GB/MBs when we are not actually utilizing 3G at the moment. I apologize for my ignorance. (hope my question makes sense).

Of course. You should always click on airplane mode when leaving the ipad both to save the battery and your data allocation.
