PDR DRM/Preventing download - iPad
Hi Guys
I have a unique problem that I haven't found a solution to. Here are the details. We run a flight school in Australia and have spent $10'000s on creating a standardised flight training guide that we will use in accordance with our instructor briefs and keynotes. Because the resource is very dear to us we dont want it to fall into an other school's hands to be copied or just blatantly used. We already watermarked every page with our logo but would like to find a way to be able to upload a PDF on to an iPad (which they get complimentary when completing their CPL's) and lock it/drm it in place without the ability to download it or print it (view only) We are not going to sell it on amazon etc, its an internal document that is free for those who do their training with us.
Is that possible/is there a better way to do this than what I thought of?
Many Thanks
Nik

I don't believe you can do this at the iPad level.
My suggestion is to look into publishing that PDF via iBooks or Amazon so that you can get DRM put on it at that level - beFORE the download. That's the only way I know of to ensure it can't be printed or copied (well, without some effort).
I don't know anything more about the publishing process - only that Amazon or Apple have guides on how to publish [using DRM].
Sorry to not be of more help.
