Warranty for used Ipad

Let's say you buy an Ipad on something like Craig's list. Is there anyone you can buy some type of warranty from?

If the original warranty and AppleCare, if any, are not yet expired, they can be transferred to the new owner. Other than that I don't believe there is any way to get a warranty on a used iPad.

Check out the serial number online once you buy it. I bought a used ipad 3 off of CL earlier this week and checked out the S/N online and it appears I'm covered until august of next year (original owner registered proof of purchase).
