Have an ipad 2, wireless router, and a pixma mx892. Can i set up a wireless network with the printer? I am a truck driver so having an internet connection is not always possible and setting up one every time i do would be painful. Would like a contained wireless network to print and scan inside my truck! Thx for any help!!!

Then put both the iPad and the printer on the same wifi network. It should work. You don't need Internet.
Is the printer an AirPrint printer, too?
Setting up a wireless network with those Items will work fine. If your printer isn't AirPrint compatible check the App Store for 'print bureau' it works great with just about any wireless printer.
Not an AirPrint printer. The router is a linksys E1200. Is it possible to access the router via ipad? No laptop or desktop! Thx again!
Try typing into safari on iPad http://192.168.1.1 most linksys routers use this address. Username: admin password is blank I believe.
