I had the same problem (so your question is not dumb anyway). AFAIK you should associate game with your facebook profile, then your facebook profile picture will be put as avatar into the game. So:
1. set up the facebook profile (may be with false ID) and place there your avatar as profile picture
2. in Airport City tap the sociality icon (3 people), then "open book" icon and input your fb profile data in "profile" tab
It may take some time for GI to send your avatar to the game.

I accidentially associated my game with wrong fb profile and now can't change it. Anybody any ideas?

I need tv panels, don't suppose anyone can gift? Been flying to antarctic for ages, they are very elusive. In fact not much has been dropping from any of my flights recently

Wish I could help you! There always seems to be one thing we need to finish a building or a collection that's next to impossible to get. I know what you mean about the drop rates. I thought I was just imaging it.

Captain Boyington - I just accidentally hit the "x" on the earrings you sent me (finger slip) so I didn't actually get them but it made me think of something. Did you then get an extra gift to give out today? If you did, that gives us all a new strategy to use in the game. If you get a gift you don't need (I do need those earrings!) then give it up by hitting the "x" and that person can go and gift another person that day. We could all use extra gifts to give people! This way we make better use of the gifts. No more 30 extra sets of pruning shears when you already finished the quest! Of course, none of this matters if you didn't get an extra gift back

Yes, I agree, the drop rates are very, very bad.
And also the content of the blue box is very low, if you understand what I mean
