MacRumors reports that Apple has added a whole new range of workshops to its Apple Store program especially for Apple Watch owners.
The new “Apple Watch Basics” workshops will begin on April 24 and will take place in Apple retail stores. Not all stores will be holding the workshops, however.
The workshops will take place every 1.5 hours throughout the day, including Saturdays and Sundays. MacRumors says that some shops will even be opening longer so that more workshops can be packed into the day.
Other Apple Watch workshops are also available in some Apple retail stores, with some stores listing a “Stay in Touch with Apple Watch” class.
If you’d like to attend a workshop to learn all the basics about your new Apple Watch you can make an appointment starting from today. And if...
The internet is awash in trolls who lurk in comment sections of blogs ready to jump down each other's throats to "debate" (and debase each other) over Android vs. iPhone. This latest news report coming out of Tulsa, Oklahoma may have just found the two "Idiot Kings" of this behavior.
Two roommates in the Evergreen Apartments were taken to the hospital after stabbing each other over an argument as to which mobile platform was better than the other. The altercation occurred at 1am on Friday morning and devolved into smashing beer bottles on each other and then stabbing each other repeatedly.
Both of the boneheads survived and were treated for their wounds. Police have not yet decided whether they will charge either mobile gladiator. Perhaps they were lucky there wasn't a third...

CarPlay is the standard developed by Apple that allows iOS devices to function with built-in display units of automobile dashboards. At the moment CarPlay is available for all iPhones that use the Lightning connector and operate iOS 7.1 or later. It provides direct access to iOS device functionality working as a virtual machine on top of the manufacturers' native in-car control systems.
CarPlay debuted in March of 2014 as Apple's official in-car connectivity initiative, and only a year later did Apple expand its service to 25 countries. This has helped the company get support from all major auto makers. Another reason why CarPlay hasn't yet become a more widely available standard is because it will only be integrated into new cars.

Time has today published its annual 100 Most Influential People List, and has included Apple CEO Tim Cook as one of those 100 people, naming him in the “Titans” category alongside the likes of Lee Daniels, Kanye West, and Mellody Hobson.
Cook’s profile in the list, which is titled “A courageous innovator,” was written by civil rights leader and Democratic Congressman from Georgia, John Lewis.
Lewis notes that stepping into the shadow of the late Steve Jobs could not have been easy for Cook, “but with grace and courage and an unabashed willingness to be his own man, Tim has pushed Apple to unimaginable profitability—and greater social responsibility.”
“Above all, he has shown that profitability and integrity can go hand in hand,” concluded Lewis. “Tim has done this while introducing,...

In a recent research note, KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says that Apple Watch preorders will exceed 2.3 million units by the end of May. The analyst is known to have accurate predictions, so he could be right this time, as well.
Mass production of the Apple Watch started in March and should reach output of 2.3 million units, but there are still production bottlenecks caused by the haptic vibrator and advanced OLED screen. Kuo believes that 85 percent of orders will go to Apple Watch Sport, 15 percent to stainless steel Apple Watch versions and 1 percent to the most expensive gold Apple Watch Edition devices.
For the entire year, the analyst is targeting production at 2 to 3 million units per month, but he cites a number of supply chain problems that could hinder the manufacture process....
According to a report on MacRumors today, U.S. teens are not overly interested in the Apple Watch, especially when compared to the iPhone or iPad.
Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster has released his latest semiannual teen survey, where he polls around 6,200 U.S. teens about their device usage and plans for buying devices.
Munster’s figures show that only 11 percent of those polled said that they planned on buying an Apple Watch, which is a drop from 16 percent in the fall survey. The main reason for buying an Apple Watch given by that 11 percent was style, then design. Only 5 percent of those polled own a smartwatch.
“We believe the lower purchase intent reflects a wait and see approach to the Watch as it seems unclear what will be the ‘killer app’ for the Watch,” said Munster. “We...

China is already Apple's second-largest iPhone market, and now a fresh report coming from analytics firm AppAnnie shows just how important this market has become for Tim Cook and his team.
The app analytics company reports that when it comes to iOS app downloads, China is now leading the way in the first quarter of 2015. China's ascendance is said to be linked to the popularity of the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus models. Thanks to these new devices, Apple managed to obtain record sales of $74.6 billion in its fiscal 2015 first quarter.
While China also had strong growth in iOS revenue during the first three months of 2015, the country ranked third behind the U.S. and Japan in terms of revenue generated by apps. AppAnnie also informs that Apple's App Store worldwide revenue in the...
